Cost Accounting – Assistant Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team. This role is ideal for a candidate with 2-8 years of experience who is eager to contribute to our financial operations, assist in cost analysis and grow into a leadership position within our accounting team.

• Conduct detailed analysis of production costs, including raw materials, labour, and overhead, to provide accurate cost estimates.
• Monitor and analyze variances between standard costs and actual costs, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare and present regular cost reports to management, highlighting trends, variances, and key insights to support decision making.
• Assist in developing and maintaining standard costing systems, ensuring accurate and up-to-date cost data.
• Work closely with the production and operations teams to ensure accurate tracking of inventory and production costs.
• Mentor and provide guidance to costing staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA designation is preferred.
• 2-8 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory management, and financial analysis.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems (preferably Syspro/Solo-chain).
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
