Sanitation Supervisor

The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of the Sanitation employees (and peripheral departments during off shifts), achieving cleaning and set-up schedules, all in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, and safety (in-house policies as well as legislation).

• This position will confer with management and Sanitation employees to ensure communication and direction are understood.
• Enforce safety and sanitation/allergen compliance.
• Monitor and assess employee performance.
• Produce Daily Reports, addressing any concerns occurring on their shift.
• Work closely with Production Supervisors and the Quality department.
• Order cleaning-related chemicals.
• Backup to Production Supervisors in regard to HACCP duties and responsibilities.
• Production Supervisors will provide back up to the Sanitation Supervisor as well in regards to HACCP duties and responsibilities.
• Scheduling and coordinating assigned PM’s and teardowns.
• Monitoring and verifying the performance of CIP systems.

• Strong knowledge of the in-house process (ice cream, dairy, food plant).
• Experience in managing people and processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal skills.
• Excellent WHMIS knowledge and the safe handling of chemicals.
• Meticulous record-keeper with attention to detail.
• Good computer skills.
• Good knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Excellent knowledge and skills as related to the sanitation process and equipment.
